FAQ

You will be notified about your license expiration:

• The AVG icon will turn red one week before the expiry date.
• After the license expires, for a period of one month, AVG software will continue to operate fully. However, at each start-up, a pop-up window will notify you that the license has expired. Anytime during this period you can reorder and reactivate your AVG program.

At the end of the license period all registered AVG users are eligible for discounted license renewal for the next period. For more information, please contact our Customer Services Team.

1. At the AVG Technologies on-line shop:
Please enter your AVG License Number into the License Number field in the Renewal and Upgrade Center. Then select Renew my current product only and process your renewal.
Payment is possible by credit card (Visa, MasterCard/Eurocard, American Express, JCB and Diners Club are all accepted), British Solo/Switch debit card, PayPal, wire/bank transfer, check or cash. 

2. Directly from AVG Authorized Resellers/Distributors and AVG Technologies Partners. 

You may check your current AVG license expiration date in your AVG (look at the bottom left corner of the AVG window).

If you have any questions regarding your license renewal, please send them to our Customer Services Team. Do not forget to include your name, e-mail address and your AVG License Number.

Yes, it is possible to order AVG Backup CD with your AVG License renewal.

If you do not want to purchase the AVG Backup CD, you can easily remove it from your shopping cart.

Click on the bin icon on the backup CD line, update your cart and the AVG Backup CD will be removed from your order.

Yes, we recommend that you purchase your AVG license renewal in good time, at least one month prior to your current license expiration.

Please note that on the Returning Customer/Reseller page, the User ID and Password fields are not obligatory. When purchasing a license renewal, simply fill in the New customer purchase form, that is situated below the Returning customer/reseller field.

Even if you enter your personal data as a new customer, your renewal order will be linked with your originally purchased AVG product.

Please follow the steps below to activate your AVG 8.0 by entering your newly purchased AVG License Number:

On a single workstation:

• Run AVG8.0 by clicking on the AVG icon on your desktop or in your system tray bar.
• From the "Help" drop-down menu select "Reactivate".
• Enter your newly purchased AVG License Number in the "License Number" field and click on "Activate".

To enter the AVG License Number correctly we recommend you to use the Copy & Paste method.

Using AVGADMIN:
Please refer to our Technical FAQ section. 

Please note: The activation of AVG7.5 is different:

• Run AVG 7.5 by clicking on the AVG icon on your desktop or in your system tray bar.
• From the "Information panel" drop-down menu select "ActivateAVG".
• Enter your newly purchased AVG License Number in the "License Number" field and click on "Activate".

To enter the AVG License Number correctly we recommend you to use the Copy & Paste method. 

To activate AVG 7.5 Anti-Spyware follow these steps:

• Launch AVG Anti-Spyware from Programs.
• In the "Status" window of AVG Anti-Spyware you find the link "Enter License Number".
• When you click on this link it opens a new dialog where you can enter your AVG License Number for AVG Anti-Spyware.

To enter the AVG License Number correctly we recommend you to use the Copy & Paste method.

After having done so please click the "OK" button to close the dialog and to activate the product.

The activation of AVG 7.5 is different and can be only done with 7.5 AVG License Number.

Please bear in mind that the support for commercial AVG 7.5 products will be discontinued on April 30th 2009. AVG 7.5 Anti-Spyware will only be supported until December 31st 2008.

If you purchased your AVG License Renewal through an Authorized AVG Distributor, or Partner, you will have received a Renewal Key.

Please, go to this website and enter:

• your renewal key
• your current AVG License Number
• your registered e-mail address

A new AVG License Number will be sent to your e-mail address. Then you will simply activate your AVG with the newly supplied License Number.

Customers who are eligible for the non-profit discount receive the same discount at the license renewal.

To apply for the discount, it is necessary to fill out the Discount Application Form that is available in the EDU/Charity/Government section on our website.

The discount will be calculated from the listed price of the product at the time of the renewal.

You can renew and cross-upgrade your product to another product in one step:

• For licenses with less than 200 users at the AVG Technologies on-line shop:
  Please go to the Renewal and Upgrade Center. There enter your AVG License Number into the License field, select Renew and Cross Upgrade to a more advanced AVG product and process your renewal and upgrade. Payment is possible by credit card (Visa, MasterCard/Eurocard, American Express, JCB and Diners Club are all accepted), British Solo/Switch debit card, PayPal, wire/bank transfer, check or cash. 
• For licenses with more than 200 users or any special enquiries, kindly contact your AVG Authorized Reseller. You may also complete the on-line form to contact our Customer Services Team and have your renewal and cross-upgrade processed off-line by AVG Technologies.
