AVG Supports UNICEF
Reseller promotion raises $35,000 to help children in need
Czech Republic – September 2, 2008 - AVG Technologies, a leading developer of Internet security software for home and SMB users, is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of its Spring charitable fundraising promotion.
Many of the company’s distributors and resellers around the world participated in the promotion, entitled Be Safe and Save, which ran during May 2008. For every license sold during the period of the promotion, AVG committed to donating $0.50 to UNICEF, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund.
The total amount raised was $35,000, will be used to provide clothing, antibiotics, vaccinations, and special nutrition for children in need, and will be allocated as deemed appropriate by UNICEF personnel.
“We were delighted with the response from our channel partners,” said Tomáš Vašíček, Head of Channel Management at AVG Technologies. “It is important for us to be involved in such activities which can help us protect computer users and at the same time better the lives of children in need.”
AVG expects to repeat this type of promotion at least once a year, supporting a variety of charitable organizations.
